Vitamin & Mineral Analysis

Are You Taking Supplements—or Do You Actually Know What Your Body Needs?

Fatigue. Hair changes. Muscle weakness. Poor recovery. Brain fog. Changes in sleep. Reduced exercise tolerance.

These concerns are often blamed on stress, hormones, or simply getting older.

But nutritional status can be another important piece of the picture.

At Dr. Mariana Bubucea’s Wellness Center, Vitamin & Mineral Analysis is not offered as a stand-alone blood test.

It is part of a comprehensive Pre-Wellness Visit Protocol designed to give Dr. Bubucea objective information about your nutritional status, bone health, body composition, and other relevant aspects of your health before your Wellness Consultation.

The goal is not to guess which supplements you need.

The goal is to measure, evaluate, and personalize.

What Is Vitamin & Mineral Analysis?

Vitamin & Mineral Analysis uses laboratory testing to evaluate selected nutrients and related biomarkers that are important for normal physiological function.

Depending on your individual protocol, testing may include markers related to:

Vitamin D
Vitamin B12
Folate (Vitamin B9)
Iron
Ferritin
Magnesium
Calcium
Selenium
Zinc
Copper
Ceruloplasmin
Parathyroid hormone and calcium regulation
Additional nutritional and metabolic markers when appropriate

Dr. Bubucea interprets these results within the context of your symptoms, diet, medications, supplements, medical history, hormonal status, body composition, and overall wellness goals.

Why Can Vitamin & Mineral Deficiencies Develop?

A healthy diet does not always guarantee optimal nutrient status.

Deficiencies or inadequate nutrient status can develop for many reasons, including:

Restrictive or low-calorie diets
Vegetarian or vegan diets without adequate nutrient planning
Poor appetite or inadequate food intake
Gastrointestinal or absorption problems
Previous gastrointestinal surgery
Certain medications
Increased physiological demands
Menstrual blood loss and other sources of blood loss
Aging-related changes in nutrient absorption
Limited sun exposure
Chronic illness
Interactions between supplements, medications, and nutrients

This is one reason Dr. Bubucea does not recommend building a wellness strategy around symptoms alone.

Similar symptoms can have very different underlying contributors.

Symptoms That May Deserve a Deeper Look

Depending on the nutrient involved and the individual patient, nutritional deficiencies can be associated with symptoms or findings such as:

Persistent fatigue
Weakness
Hair or nail changes
Reduced exercise tolerance
Muscle cramps or weakness
Numbness or tingling
Cognitive changes or difficulty concentrating
Anemia
Poor recovery
Changes in bone health
Changes in immune function

These symptoms are not specific to vitamin or mineral deficiencies and can occur with many medical conditions.

That is exactly why Dr. Bubucea's approach goes beyond simply matching a symptom to a supplement.

We Don't Just Do Blood Work

This is an important difference in Dr. Bubucea’s approach.

The Vitamin & Mineral Panel is part of a broader Pre-Wellness Visit Protocol, rather than an isolated laboratory service.

Before the Wellness Visit, the evaluation may include:

Vitamin & Mineral Panel

Laboratory testing provides objective information about selected vitamins, minerals, nutritional markers, and related metabolic findings.

DEXA Scan

DEXA adds information that cannot be obtained from a blood test alone.

Depending on the scan performed, Dr. Bubucea can evaluate bone mineral density and body composition, including lean mass, total and regional body fat, and visceral adipose tissue.

This is particularly valuable because nutritional and hormonal health need to be understood in the context of what is happening to bone, muscle, and body composition.

Ultrasound

When appropriate, ultrasound adds anatomical information to the evaluation.

It allows Dr. Bubucea to evaluate relevant organs and tissues for structural findings that cannot be identified through vitamin and mineral testing alone.

Then Comes the Most Important Part: Your Wellness Visit

Testing is only the beginning.

After your Pre-Wellness evaluation is completed, you meet with Dr. Mariana Bubucea for your comprehensive Wellness Visit.

Instead of reviewing each result as an isolated number, Dr. Bubucea looks at the relationships between your:

Vitamin & mineral status + laboratory findings + bone density + muscle mass + visceral fat + ultrasound findings + symptoms + medical history + lifestyle

This creates a much more complete picture than blood work alone.

Why Body Composition Matters

Two people can have the same weight—or even the same BMI—and have very different body composition.

One may have greater muscle mass and relatively little visceral fat.

Another may have reduced lean mass and greater visceral adiposity.

DEXA body-composition analysis provides objective information that helps Dr. Bubucea evaluate these differences and incorporate them into the overall wellness strategy.

This becomes especially relevant when addressing healthy aging, metabolic health, physical performance, menopause, bone health, and preservation of lean mass.

Don't Guess With Supplements

More is not always better when it comes to vitamins and minerals.

Taking supplements without understanding your actual needs can result in unnecessary supplementation, inappropriate doses, interactions, or excessive intake of certain nutrients.

At Dr. Bubucea’s Wellness Center, the approach is different:

Test first. Understand the whole picture. Personalize what comes next.

From Results to a Personalized Wellness Strategy

During your Wellness Visit, Dr. Bubucea integrates your findings with your medical history, current supplements and medications, diet, lifestyle, symptoms, and health goals.

Depending on the results, your personalized plan may include recommendations related to:

Nutrition
Vitamin or mineral supplementation when appropriate
Lifestyle
Physical activity
Muscle and bone health
Metabolic health
Additional testing when indicated
Follow-up and monitoring

The objective is not to create the longest supplement list.

It is to identify what matters for your body and build a more precise wellness strategy around your actual data.

Start With Data. Build From There.

Your body is more complex than a vitamin level on a laboratory report.

That is why Dr. Bubucea combines Vitamin & Mineral Analysis, DEXA, ultrasound when appropriate, and a comprehensive Wellness Visit to understand the patient from multiple perspectives.

Blood tells us one part of the story.
DEXA shows us bone and body composition.
Ultrasound adds anatomical information.
Your Wellness Visit connects the findings.
