A closer look at your uterus and ovaries, performed in our office by an ultrasound specialist.
A pelvic ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of the reproductive organs. For this examination, the specialist gently places a slim, covered ultrasound probe inside the vagina to obtain detailed images of the uterus and ovaries. The examination is generally well tolerated, although some women may feel pressure or discomfort. Tell the specialist if anything feels painful.
Before your appointment
Complete the required intake form before arriving.
Empty your bladder at our office before the examination. This is the usual preparation for a transvaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound is performed by our specialist. Your written report will be ready the next day.
